I made this pendant for the Queen of Detectorist, Tracey. I used Souffle polymer clay and added an ink jet transfer to the center. An old key that she found during one of her digs was added to the back.

Circa 1985…this little nuthatch was carved by yours truly back in the day when I was a very prolific bird carver. I studied under renown carver Russ Colburn. It was carved in bass wood from a linden tree. This is a surprise gift for my dear friend who will be visiting me next month! Oh, and we will surely be getting into it deep in my studio…break out the Bailey’s Strawberries & Cream thanks to another dear friend. I foresee many hours of laughter, camaraderie and girl time…Jan may just have to force us to go to bed because we will want to be claying all day and all night!

Saw on Etsy where someone crocheted a little voodoo doll so I decided to make one with polymer clay. Here’s my take on Baby “T”…I only stuck one pin in him! This satirical piece was made with Sculpey Souffle® polymer clay.

Here is my October Makin’s Clay® project, Evil Orville. This silly, scary pendant was given to a friend. Go to: makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for complete instruction. Disclaimer: any family resemblance is purely an accident.

I did something different with this project, I made the main parts with Sculpey® Souffle polymer clay covering an Altoid but then added some embellishments made from Makin’s Clay® combining the two different products~ The little bat in the upper corner and the red “pills” in the bottle are Makin’s Clay®. The wings were made from Sculpey® Clear Liquid Bakeable Clay. The skull on the top is Fimo Glow in the Dark clay and the small heart, “copper” tube and tin covering is Souffle clay. Of course I had to add some gears… small glass bottles were filled with nail polish and alcohol ink. Some Tim Holtz skulls, bones and a creepy hand were also added.

Here’s an Altoid tin I covered with polymer clay and used numerous products from CreateAlong’s Paisley box. They have the best silkscreens! Go to CreateAlong.com and check things out!
