SUPER MOON…SUPER WOMAN

2015 For Ann WhitingAnn-Marie WhitingThis polymer clay pendant was made for my friend Ann-Marie who is retiring from the Shirley Police Department.  I used several watch parts, a small gear, a glass sun and textured the background with a Makin’s® texture sheet.  The piece was finished with mica powders.  Enjoy your retirement!  The boys in blue will miss you.

FRIENDS…

2015 FriendsFor my second September project for PolymerClayTV, I made a frame using their mini flower cutters, fleur fancy mold, and the 2 part bloom mold. I also incorporated some of my favorite Makin’s® texture sheets then finished it off with mica powders. The frame will be going to my dear friend in NC.  Your friendship has been a godsend.

A NIGHT ON THE TOWN…

Here’s my September Makin’s Clay® design team project I am calling: “A Night on the Town”. The moon is Glow in the Dark Makin’s Clay® and the townscape and witch are black clay. I used a color changing tea light to light it up.  Go to makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for full instructions.  BTW…I let the witch borrow my broom.

BAT BLOCK…

2015 Bat in a Block framedArtist, bookmaker and photographer Leslie Marsh made some blocks with really cool PMC: (Precious Metal Clay) trinkets inside a carved out wooden block.  I decided to give it a try and use some Makin’s Clay® to make a little bat for inside the block. After carving out the block, I painted the inside area with glow in the dark paint, put the tiny bat inside, and covered the opening with a piece of mica. Thanks Leslie for posting your awesome blocks and  giving me some inspiration! Check out all of Leslie’s incredible art on Facebook.

GHOST POOP….

2015 Ghost PoopThis is a silly little project I made with Makin’s® Glow-In-the-Dark clay.  Hey, when a ghost has to go, he has to go!

TIME FLIES AT MY HOUSE…

Time Flys HouseFor one of my September projects for Polymerclaytv I made this little house with wings, a butterfly, a couple of flowers made from Sculpey Souffle™ polymer clay, two watch faces and a large gear. I added metal tape to the sides and embossed a pattern onto the tape. I also used my favorite Makin’s Clay® texture sheet with gears. Time does fly at my house!

NEVER FORGET…9-11

2015 Tower of Tears Pic2This is a 9-11 memorial I designed…I call it the TOWER OF TEARS.  It features two basalt columns that were drilled out so water could pass through them.  It is in my front yard as a daily reminder of all the lives that were lost on that tragic day. I will never forget.  God bless America.
