This winter ornament was made by using an art box from CreateAlong.com This month the CreateAlongBox included a 2-way silkscreen, a Texture Stax with 6 different crystal designs, a snowflakes silicone mold, a chipboard ornament to cover with clay, some DewDrop Brillance Heat-set ink and Sparkly icy mica powdered pigments. I added a glass ornament in the middle and filled it with vintage glass glitter and some mica flakes. I finished the edges with vintage glass glitter. And of course I had to include some ball chain for a slight steampunk look.

My nephew David and his wife Betsy lost their beautiful daughter Katie to Angiosarcoma this past July. This ornament, in her memory, was made from Sculpey Souffle™ polymer clay. Katie fought the good fight but cancer won in the end. Rest in peace Katie, I know you are sorely missed.

The picture of the two adorable babies on this ornament is another ink jet transfer, in other words it is entirely made of clay. Sculpey® Souffle polymer clay was used and I also used my Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine® and Makin’s® Texture Sheets in the process. Merry Christmas to two incredible women, I hope you enjoy my little piece of art for you. I made two ornaments, the picture shows the front and the back.

This steampunk ornament features an ink jet polymer clay transfer on the front and gears on the back. I learned this technique from a video on YouTube by Willowbird Studio. I also used a Makin’s® Texture Sheet in the process and some ball chain and gears. The piece was antiqued with oil paint.
