    Just Steampunk! Volume 1 2011

I made a second pendant for Jamie’s Fundraiser.  This one was made with Souffle polymer clay. The back is stamped with CreateAlong.com Feather Your Nest Collection rubber stamp. The front features numerous watch parts and colored with mica powders and textured with a Makin’s Clay® texture sheet.  A big thank you to Michelle at Crafty Delights for turning me onto Parks Super Glaze which I used to seal the gears in the heart opening.

A young guy I know is fighting his second bout with cancer. There will be a comedy event on June 17 to help defer some of Jamie’s expenses… I made this steampunk pendant for a raffle they are having at the fundraiser. Prayers to you Jamie.2016 Fundraiser

Love that dirty water, Boston …

Here’s the Charles River…no more dirty water…but I love that song. This is where my Makin’s Clay® airship traveled to today….but: “Well I love that dirty water, oh Boston you’re my home”…2016 Airship Boston Dirty Water

Bottle of Hope

I made this Bottle of Hope from an insulin bottle covered with Makin’s Clay®.  It is going to South Carolina from my friend Brenda’s cousin Carol. Bottles of Hope symbolize a wish and a hope for health.  This project was started in 1999 by a Rhode Island cancer survivor and has spread internationally.2016 Birdhouse Bottle of Hope 1

Just love the beach, who doesn’t? So I made an extra project for CreateAlong using elements from the three design teams I am on. CreateAlong has an awesome silicone button mold so I fashioned buttons using Makin’s Clay®.  Then using Beacon’s Quick Grip™ and their 3-in-1 adhesives, I 2016 Beachglued the buttons and the shells, letters and fencing to the wood substrate which I made from large paint stirring strips. This nice man at Home Depot gave me 8 paint stirring strips! This was a fun project and I am taking it to our cottage at Cape Cod. Go to CreateAlong.com to see all their neat silicone molds and TONS of other cool polymer clay tools, stencils, silkscreens, anything you need to create to your hearts content!

I recently became part of Beacon Adhesive Makers team.  For my first project I used their Beacon Makers Mix™, a fast setting lightweight DIY concrete mix. Makers Mix™ is engineered with recycled and patented components and is 30% lighter than regular concrete. So being a Statue of Liberty collector I made this plaque from an older mold I had.  I painted the finished project with acrylic paint and put 18k gold leafing on the torch.
