Using my favorite clay, Sculpey® Souffle, I created a repo of a vintage 1920’s / 1930’s art deco brooch pin. I saw one for sale on Ebay for $300 and decided to make one from polymer clay.

This little robot was made from an old spark plug. I used Sculpey® Souffle polymer clay and some ball chain. His little head is a glass bottle and some small gears and a large gear propels him on his merry way. I colored him with mica powders…gee, I wonder where this spark plug traveled during the course of its life…maybe it was in your car!

I enjoy recycling old and worn parts into a new creation. The body of this bug is a small old yellow light bulb. I also used a part from a newer type bulb around the light bulb. A small circular saw blade and copper wire was also used. I formed the wings from Sculpey® Clear Liquid Bakeable Clay. The “landing wheels” are two small gears on a copper axle. That’s the buzz for today.

Each side has a little “symbol” depicting a season… a snowflake for Winter, a flower for Spring, the sun for Summer and a leaf for Fall. Head on over to Makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for complete instructions so you can make one too!
