BOTTLE OF HOPE…

2018 BH Flower Box WindowHere’s another Bottle of Hope I made for the ClayconneCTion at Connecticut College next week. The bottles we make will be donated to a cancer center.  Only 10 more days, but who’s counting?

MY DRIVING COMPANION…

2018 RLC map and driving fingerAt the ClayconneCTion at Connecticut College, we play a game called LRC: (Left Right Center)…so each artists makes some “chips” to use during the game.  Seeing that I seem to use this finger a lot when driving: (better known as the driving finger),  I felt the need to express my driving style with this “chip”. I used Sculpey® Souffle clay and metallic waxes.

MAKIN MY HEART…

20018 Repurposed HeartMy July Makin’s Clay® project was meant to show the versatility of this awesome clay. For the past 3 1/3 years on the Makin’s Design Team, I have been putting all my extra “scrap” pieces of clay in a draw.  This pendant shows there is no waste with Makin’s Clay®…I used a small dried piece of clay, cut it to the shape I wanted, rubbed on some metallic waxes and voila!, it took on a new life!  Head on over to: Makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for complete instructions!

BOTTLE OF HOPE…

2018 BH LighthouseHere’s another Bottle of Hope that I made for the 2018 ClayConnection Retreat at Connecticut College the end of this month. Really looking forward to seeing my friends from the Southern Connecticut Polymer Clay Guild that I joined last year…a fine group of awesome artists! This little bottle is my take on the Nauset Lighthouse in Eastham, MA.  I used Sculpey® Souffle polymer clay and I made the beacon from Sculpey® liquid bakeable clay. This BOH will be going to a cancer patient.

CREATEALONG PROJECT

2018 Mermaid

This month, for my CreateAlong.com project, I made a little mermaid wall hanging.  It was inspired by a class I took from Laurie Mika in 2013.  So many cool items in their craft boxes that you can just let your imagination run wild!  Items like their Magic Transfer Paper, stencils, beads, rubber stamps, cutters, just great tools for any artist!

BOTTLE OF HOPE…

2018 Pizza OvenI will be going to the 2018 ClayConnection retreat at Connecticut College later this month. All the participants make Bottles of Hope to give to cancer patients. BOH are small glass bottles covered in polymer clay for wishes and hope. This BOH, made with Sculpey® Souffle polymer clay, is a pizza oven and I am hoping it will bring a smile to someone…after all, who doesn’t like pizza!

DRESSED MANNEQUIN…

2018 Dressed Manekin w logoThis little mannequin stands 6″ tall and was made with Makin’s Clay®. Even the large gear at the base was molded from Makin’s Clay®.  She is adorned with a key escutcheon, an old Benrus watch face, a little red metal heart and two smaller gears at the arm holes. A leather studded belt is around her middle and the “skirt” was fashioned from a plastic aspirin bottle that I cut down into strips leaving the base on.
