FOR KAREN…

I made this little book, measuring 2″ X  3″,  for my friend Karen.  Her Mom, a friend of mine since I was a teenager, died yesterday.  I used two different Makin’s® Texture Sheets for the front and back covers. The mini book is filled with pictures of Karen and her Mom.  Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.

MAKIN A FLASH…

2017 FlashFor my June Makin’s Clay® project, I covered a flash drive with clay and made it look like a Steampunk item.  That is the awesome thing about Makin’s, the No Bake Clay®.  You can cover anything and transform it without the heat of an oven.  Go to Makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for complete instructions!

Just Steampunk Volume 9…

I got a copy of Just Steampunk and was surprised to see my 2016 Makin’s Clay® Mini book that I made in 2016 on a full page spread!  Thanks Scott Publications, I did not expect to see that.

GIVE A HOOT…

I made a little owl pendant for my May Makin’s Clay® project.  I used numerous watch parts and some gears.  Head over to:  Makinsclayblog.blogspot.com for complete instructions and I will show you how to make one for yourself.  It is easy, it is fun and no baking is required!

FAIRY GARDEN TREE…

Inspired by my friend and sculptor Jake Folger, I made this little tree for one of my fairy gardens. I rarely make things for myself but I got so sick of buying cheap plastic pieces for my gardens that I decided to make my own.  I used Sculpey III® to make the tree and colored it with mica powders after which I sealed it with exterior Mod Podge®.  It is attached to a rock I found when visiting a local nursery.  Thanks for the great tutorials Jake!

FOR MS. OLINDA…

Makin’s Clay® was used to make this little Steampunk kitty.  Numerous gears, screws and copper wire were also used.  Little  Ms Kitty will be heading to Dorchester for Ms. O’s Cinco de Mayo birthday. MEOW…

SCHNAUZER LOVE…

This little steampunk polymer clay covered tin is for Kona’s treats.  Sculpey’s® Premo was used and various implements to make impressions in the clay, followed by oil paint to “antique” the tin.  I used an old tin we had that was used for Kinzee’s little treats.
