    Just Steampunk! Volume 1 2011

For my May PolymerclayTV project, I went down a different path.  I used a canvas, that I purchased at Michael’s.  I love the wood “frame” that came with the canvas.  First thing I did was decoupage the frame with old dictionary pages. Then I liquified some Makin’s Clay® for the sky and the tree. Using the CreateAlong cherry blossom silicone mold, I made the flowers, leaves and a few branches out of Makin’s Clay®. I also used the CreateAlong cherry blossom silkscreen stencil and screened, onto some white Makin’s Clay®, the pattern which was later cut into a leaf shape and then I wrote some words from the Kilmer poem Tree. Alcohol inks were used to tint the flowers.  The robin and fence were die cut, again I used Makin’s Clay®. Using the Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Extruder® I made the nest for the robin and hand formed three tiny eggs. I also made a little tire swing from Makin’s Clay®. A tree that may in Summer wear a nest of robins in her hair.2016 Tree
